Email alerts
Get an email when your feedback needs attention. Voxtrics sends it from an alert: a rule that watches incoming responses, for example "at least 3 ratings of 2 or lower within an hour". Email needs nothing set up outside Voxtrics: you only type an address.
Send alerts by email
- Go to Alerts and click New alert, or the pencil icon (Edit) on an existing rule.
- Set the rule's name, scope, time window and condition, as described in Alerts.
- Under Notify via, select Email and type the address into Email address.
- Click Create alert, or Save changes for an existing rule.
A rule can email up to 5 addresses: add more with Add email address. To reach more people than that, use a shared mailbox or a mailing list, or add Slack or Telegram to the same rule: see Slack integration and Telegram integration. An address doesn't have to belong to anyone in your space, and Voxtrics doesn't ask its owner to confirm it.
What the email says
Each time the rule fires, the address gets an email titled "Alert:" and the rule's name. It says which domain it's about, how many responses in the time window matched and why the rule fired. The responses themselves aren't in it: open the firing in Alerts to see them.
A rule fires at most once every 30 minutes, or less often if you set a throttle. A space's alerts send at most 100 emails in any 24 hours. Past that a rule still fires and the firing shows in Alerts, but no email is sent.
If emails don't arrive
- If the alert isn't saved, check the address for a typo: Voxtrics checks that it's a valid email address.
- Look in the spam or junk folder. If the email is there, mark it as not spam, so the next ones land in the inbox.
- Check that the rule is enabled and has fired: every firing is listed in Alerts.
- Check the limit above: once a space's alerts have sent 100 emails in 24 hours, they send no more until the oldest of those is a day old.
