Voxtrics vs Hotjar: an alternative for website surveys and feedback
Hotjar no longer takes new sign-ups: its surveys and feedback widgets are now sold as Contentsquare Voice of Customer, next to heatmaps and session replays. Voxtrics is a focused alternative for on-site surveys and feedback: a free plan of up to 300 responses a month, data stored in Finland, and from the Scale plan automatic page screenshots and feedback on specific page elements.
Voxtrics vs Hotjar at a glance

| Entry price | Growth: €15 a month billed annually or €20 month to month, 1,500 responses a month and 2 users. | Voice of Customer Growth: €99 a month paid monthly for 500 responses a month, or 20% less with annual payment set up in the app by card or PayPal. |

No AI analysis of responses. | Yes: AI survey generation and AI summary reports on all plans; sentiment and topic tags from Growth. Custom survey text is not translated automatically. |
| Questions and logic | 20 question types, including NPS, matrix, ranking, constant sum and signature; 37 templates. Wording can change with earlier rating or scale answers, but there is no skip or branching logic. | 9 question types, including NPS, rating scales and reactions; skip logic; 40+ templates. |

An alert gives the count, not the answers, and fires at most every 30 minutes. No Microsoft Teams. | Yes: New responses can be forwarded to Slack and Microsoft Teams on all plans, and by email (the first 24 a day per survey). Telegram is not described. |
| API and webhooks | Partly: REST API from the Scale plan to read responses and surveys. No outgoing webhooks. | Partly: Responses API on the Pro and Enterprise plans, priced on request. |

No CRM integrations or Zapier. | Yes: Slack, Microsoft Teams, HubSpot, Jira, GA4, Mixpanel and A/B testing tools; 115+ integrations on Pro and Enterprise. |
“Partly” means the feature is covered only in part; the cell says which. “Not described” means the vendor's public documentation did not describe the feature on September 29, 2026. It does not necessarily mean the feature is missing.

Questions and answers
Can I still sign up for Hotjar?
No. Hotjar no longer creates new accounts: hotjar.com now leads to Contentsquare, which includes Hotjar's tools, and existing Hotjar accounts are being moved to Contentsquare in phases, although account owners can postpone the move. For website surveys you can use Contentsquare Voice of Customer or a dedicated tool such as Voxtrics.
Does Voxtrics replace Hotjar heatmaps and recordings?
No. Voxtrics does surveys and feedback only. If you need heatmaps and session replays, use an analytics tool alongside it, or Contentsquare itself.
How does feedback on a page element work in Voxtrics?
From the Scale plan, when element selection is on in an inline or popup survey, the visitor chooses between the whole page and a specific element, then clicks the element. The response comes with an image of the page with that element highlighted.
Where is survey data stored?
Voxtrics stores data in Finland (EU). Contentsquare says customers based in the EU get its EU data-center region by default.
